EdisonLearning Benchmarks Serve Parents

Reporting to parents and families about student achievement and progress is ongoing throughout the year. EdisonLearning Benchmarks, in collaboration with our commitment to parent engagement, will keep you informed on your child’s progress. Research shows that regular communication of this type encourages parents to hold teacher’s accountable for teaching and children accountable for learning.

Engaging performance monitoring

Our Benchmarks' innovative production of real-time data based on your child’s performance enhances the educational experience for parents, families and students. Research shows that teachers, who use data with parents in conferences, often provoke “a longer, more involved discussion with parents not only about the child’s progress, but also about strategies and supports that parents can offer at home.”  In addition, teachers also communicate with students directly about their progress, particularly when doing progress monitoring.  We’ve found that in many cases, students ask to test themselves to see if they had improved in areas where they were not as strong. In short, EdisonLearning Benchmarks can help both teachers and students take ownership over learning.
